Fire-pit Boiling Water brews Pu'er tea for visitors
The Fire-pit Boiling Water is a trendy tea house in southwest Yunnan’s Pu’er city. The tea house is run by Xu Yanting, a Yi ethnic tea artist native to Pu'er.
Born in the 1980s, Xu is also a national tea-evaluation technician. Engaged in the promotion of ethnic tea customs and culture, she has been chosen as a district-level inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage of Pu'er tea art.
In Chinese culture, fire symbolizes light, civilization, and hope. The fire pit represents home, prosperity, stability, and warmth. Water nourishes all without contention. When water is boiled over a fire pit, it brews the national tea heritage—Pu'er tea.
