SADHVI BHAGAWATI SARASWATI

A mentally disturbed young girl though herself a psychologist with PHD degree from the United States came to India prodded by her husband since she loved Indian vegetarian food in 1996. But after reaching Rishikesh on the laps of Himalayas at banks of Ganga she got the food for thought for the rest of her life! Now she is known as Sadhavi Bhagawati Saraswati, famous not only in India or the US but also the whole world. She was a non-seeker. In Rishikesh she had an unexpected, powerful, transformative experience when she put her feet in the sacred Ganga River, an experience of the Divine.

Now one of the preeminent female spiritual teachers in the world, Sadhvi recounts her journey with honesty and clarity. She also tries to discover the truth of who we really are- expansive love, perfection, and an embodiment of the Divine. She permanently stays at Parmarth Niketan on the banks of Gaga in Rishikesh.

Sadhavi is the author of a bestselling memoir, ‘’Hollywood to the Himalayas: A Journey of Healing and Transformation’’. She is engaged in spiritual service, wisdom teaching, sacred action, and deep spiritual practice not only in the Himalayan region but also throughout India and the rest of the world. She is Director of the world-famous International Yoga Festival at Parmarth Niketan Ashram, Rishikesh—which has been covered in prestigious international publications and has been addressed by both the Prime Minister and Vice President of India.

Sadhvi shares stages and platforms with luminaries including the Dalai Lama who also stays in the Himalayan region. Her talks blend the knowledge and logic of the West with the insights, spirituality and wisdom of the East, and she is renowned as a spiritual bridge between the two cultures.

Recently, Sadhavi had a far-reaching discussion with Deepak Chopra in celebration of the release of her best- selling book. She shares that being deeply anchored and rooted in the divinity of the Source of all things helps us to recreate the peace and serenity – without actually having to journey across time zones to find it.
