RAJINIKANTH

Indian Actor

RAJINIKANTH

From time-to-time film stars, young or old both from Hollywood and Bollywood dash to Himalayas. Some are attracted by its vast nostalgic beauty and few are drawn for the spirituality of the hills.

But in case of superstar Rajinikanth it has become an annual pilgrimage barring a period when he was not well or the pandemic which restricted most movements. It’s a sort of detox process for the superstar. During these trips, he tries to detach from his stardom and ground himself by visiting spiritual centres in Kedarnath and Rishikesh. He also meditates in Babaji Cave. After a long recovery period, he resumed his Himalayan trips last year.

Before reaching the Himalayas, the famous actor was seen in a simple outfit while he was at the airport in Dehradun. He shared, “Every year I used to get new experiences that made me continue my spiritual journey again and again. I believe even this time, (I) will get new experiences.” “The whole world needs spirituality, as it’s important for every human being. Being spiritual means experiencing peace and tranquillity, and fundamentally, it involves believing in God,” he added.

Rajinikanth is also a devotee of Mahavatar Babaji of the Himalayas. Mahavatar Babaji is said to be a ‘deathless’ guru, who has maintained a youthful form like millennial, as the Autobiography of the Yogi says, and is still roaming in the Himalayas with his saintly presence and power of his Yoga, which we all know as Kriya Yoga today.

If we go by media reports, it is said that the Babaji, born in the second century, was basically from Tamil Nadus Cuddalore, who during later years moved to Rishikesh. Reports also claim that the last time he was seen in the Himalaya was during 1861- 65. It is also reported that the famous actor receives valuable advice and rare traditional Himalayan medicines during his break for which he is still active with a youthful look.

It is believed that the death defying Babaji lived in a cave, which is almost an hour away from Dunagiri in Kumaoni Almora district, a place where Rajinikanth has been going for over a decade. Autobiography of a Yogi has published a photograph of Mahavatar Babaji and this cave.
