Pu’er offers all-pig feast in cold days
The Simao district in southeast Yunnan’s Pu'er city has rolled out the all-pig feast amid the days of Minor Cold, the 23rd solar term on traditional Chinese calendar that fell on January 5 this year.
Literally called "pig-slaughtering meal", the feast tells the Chinese household’s tradition of killing a pig to usher in the Chinese lunar new year, or Spring Festival.
As the aroma of fresh pork permeates the air, the feast gives off a sense of nostalgia, appealing to sojourners who have stayed away from their hometowns for a while.
