Yunnan's agro-exports surge 37.6% to 4.46 bln yuan in Q1

Yunnan province exported agricultural products worth 4.46 billion yuan in the first quarter (Q1) of this year, marking a 37.6% year-on-year increase and ranking first among western Chinese provinces, statistics at Kunming Customs show.

At the fruit packaging facility of Mile Gaotai Fruit Industry Co., Ltd., freshly harvested oranges were automatically sorted, packaged and shipped to ASEAN and other overseas markets.

"By adjusting the planting schedule, we’ve made our oranges best-sellers in the Vietnamese market. In Q1 this year, our citrus exports to Vietnam reached 258 metric tons, a 9.8-fold increase," said Zhang Shigao, head of the company.
