This is Dali | Crossbow symbolizes Lisu identity

In mountainous Yunlong, Heqing and other counties in west Yunnan’s Dali prefecture, the brave people of the Lisu ethnic group have lived for generations.

The crossbow and arrows were not only companions for Lisu men in hunting and defending against enemies in ancient times but also symbols of their identity.

Today, crossbow has evolved into a popular sports event. Each act of drawing the bow, aiming, and releasing the arrow embodies the locals' deep nostalgia and respect for traditional culture.
