Meteors streaked across the night sky in northwest Yunnan’s Lijiang city on the nights of December 13 to 14, illuminating the magnificent landscapes of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and adding a dazzling highlight to the city’s ongoing season for stargazing.
At Ganhaizi and Taohuawu on the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain that lie over 3,000 meters above sea level, photographer Li Sihan captured the breathtaking Milky Way arching across the sky, with meteors flashing like silver ribbons over the snow peaks.

Visitors to the Blue Moon Valley scenic area of the snow mountain witnessed meteors soar above the cascading travertine waterfalls, where the shimmering waters and starry sky created a mesmerizing scene.
By establishing astronomical observation sites, organizing stargazing events and releasing stargazing maps, Lijiang is transforming its "cool resource" into a "hot economy" for cultural tourism.
