The long-anticipated 8th China-South Asia Exposition (CSA Expo) is coming again! It is scheduled to be held in central Yunnan’s Kunming city from July 23 to 28.

Compared with previous sessions, this year's CSA Expo will stress the trading professionalism more and enhance its quality and efficiency, so as to better serve the economic exchanges and cooperation between China and South Asia. Here are highlights of the coming expo.

First, optimize the pavilion settings to better display the exhibits. Highlighting the concept of professionalism, the expo will have 9 of its 15 exhibition pavilions be professional ones, and they include the architectural science and technology pavilion, the manufacturing pavilion, the green energy pavilion, the modern agriculture and geographical indication produces pavilion. These are set up to smooth channels for the whole-industrial-chain cooperation.

The expo will also set up the domestic cooperation pavilion to display the new cooperation achievements among Chinese regions, while the coffee industry pavilion and the cultural tourism and sports pavilion are designated to showcase the Yunnan-featured produces and folk customs.

Second, focus on trade cooperation to better serve the exhibitors and merchants. The CSA expo organizers will improve the information service to invite in investment, establish a market-oriented mechanism for investment access and evaluation, and quicken the customs clearance for exhibits. They’ll also optimize digital exhibitions, trade match-makings and online transactions.

For the first time, the CSA expo will establish an international trade comprehensive service zone to provide the one-stop and third-party professional services in the whole trading process. The service items involve customs declaration, inspection, insurance, finance, logistics and warehousing.

Third, expand the areas of cooperation and level up the platform for better exchanges. Themed "Solidarity and Coordinationm for Common Development", this year’s expo pays a specific attention to trade, investment as well as cultural exchanges. A number of relevant activities will be held, including the 8th Belt and Road Teenager Maker Camp and Teacher Workshop, Exchanging Meeting of Governments, Industries, Universities and Research Institutes between China and Southeast Asian Countries, 2024 (Kunming) United Nations Green and Low Carbon Product Procurement Exchange Conference, South Asia Commodity (Tea) Festival, "Invest in Yunnan" Industrial Thematic Investment Negotiation and Matchmaking Events, and Livestreaming Sessions by Diplomats in China. All these events above aim at expending China’s cooperation with its South Asian counterparts.

The CSA expo is one of the most important economic and trade exchange activities between China and its South Asian neighbors all year round. In order to further highlight relevant countries, the number of halls to exhibit products from South Asia will be doubled. A special exhibition area will be provided to Pakistan, as it is the event’s theme country. And in terms of the exhibition layout, a desk will be set up in each pavilion of South and Southeast Asian countries to showcase not only commodities but their unique natural and cultural wonders.
