Yunnan has opera gala for New Year 2026

A performance is staged at the Yunnan Provincial Opera Gala for the New Year 2026.

The gala was divided into three chapters, and through diverse artistic forms it displayed the Yunnan achievements in rural revitalization, ethnic progress and Chinese modernization.

The event featured a careful selection of Yunnan Opera and Lantern Opera, as well as the ethnic minority operas such as Bai Opera and Yi Opera. They showcased the unique charm of Yunnan’s theatrical arts.

The performers spanned three generations—veterans, middle-aged actors, and young artists. The middle-aged and young ones played leading roles in the gala. They blended tradition with modernity, earning praise from the audience.

The gala was organized by Publicity Department of the CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee and Yunnan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.
