Bulang young man rolls out tea-picking song in Pu'er

While most of China is getting through severe cold, a number of places in Yunnan province is ushering in another blooming season of winter-cherry flowers, including the Jingmai Mountain in southwest Yunnan’s Pu'er city.

The old tea forests of the Jingmai Mountain, or Bulang Mountain in Pu'er has been listed as a world heritage site, and in this spring-like blooming period a local Bulang young man has created a tea-picking song for us. Here are the lyrics.

The spring breeze sweeps over the Bulang Mountain,
spreading the fragrance of tea leaves far and wide.
If the tea were not picked by my sweet girl,
even sweet tea would turn bitter.

The tea is lush and green.
The tea is tasty and sweet.

My girl sends the tea to me.
Each leaf carries her love.
