Muhly grass in full bloom at Yunnan University
September sees pink muhly grass is in full bloom at Chenggong Campus of the Kunming-based Yunnan University, delighting students, teachers and visitors alike.
With its academic name being Muhlenbergia capillaris, the pink muhly grass is noted for its attractive foliage in summer and spectacular flowers in autumn. It is native to prairies in North America.
Founded in 1923, Yunnan University is one of the earliest comprehensive universities established in west China. With over 300,000 alumni in diverse fields, the university contributed a lot to ethnic unity, provincial prosperity and social stability.
