Cherry Blossom Festival in Shillong

Even days after the famous Cherry Blossom festival ended in Meghalaya, the same was displayed on the Republic Day parade in the state tableau drawing cheers from the crowd and evoking special interest from the dignitaries on the dais ranging from President, Prime Minister and honoured guest President of France.

The enchanting display of cherry blossoms, transformed the landscape into a canvas awash in  delicate shades of pink.

The main annual at Bhoirymbong, Shillong had drawn huge crowds both domestic and foreign. Besides the usual natural show of the unique flower laden trees some items included a war between 12 DJs from different parts of  the  North East and the annual Mr and Miss Cherry Blossom contest.

 Apart from that, there were performances by Pink Panda, Snow White, Rahul Rajkhowa, Banjop, Kenny Musik, Gwyneth, CYCO and Chevinia. The headline acts for the evening were American singer- songwriter and actor Ne-Yo and American rock band Hybrid Theory.

The event ended on a triumphant note with performances by NOKPANTE, Da Minot, The Blue Temptations, Lou Majaw and DJ Zethan. The main act for  the  evening was Irish singer and songwriter Ronan Keating, who regaled the packed house with some of Boyzone’s most- loved tracks.
