The amazing sight in Qibie village of Weixi Lisu autonomous county, northwest Yunnan’s Diqing Tibetan autonomous prefecture, was appealing to tourists in the just-concluded year 2025.

“In Qibie, rural tourism goes beyond sightseeing and check-ins—it serves as a dynamic vehicle for exchange and integration among different ethnic groups," said He Lichun, Director of the Weixi Culture and Tourism Bureau.

A Tibetan mother showed tourists from Shanghai how to make butter tea, while senior cultural scholar Jiang Zhijian explained to visitors the ancient incense-making techniques of the Naxi ethnic group. These scenes brought the idea of ethnic harmony within reach, presenting the unique Yunnan lifestyle.

"The ice grapes in Qibie village are treasures for winemaking," said Duan Jingping, general manager of the Diqing Shangri-La Lapu River Valley Winery. The grapes here produce wine with excellent flavor, and grape-growing has brought extra income to more than 200 rural households.
