Wang said this during a meeting with Australian ambassador to China Graham Fletcher in central Yunnan’s Kunming city on August 5, noting such exchanges and cooperation will be conducive to the China-Australia comprehensive strategic partnership.

Wang added that Yunnan has achieved a historic victory in poverty alleviation, made significant progress in high-quality development, and taken solid steps toward modernization. Yunnan and Australia have a sound foundation and broad prospects for cooperation.

The two sides hold talks in central Yunnan’s Kunming city on August 5.

In response, Fletcher said that Yunnan impressed him a lot with the favorable eco-environment, abundant resources, and hospitable people. He added Australia and Yunnan share diversities in ethnicity, culture, climate and geography.

Fletcher hoped to strengthen communication and exchanges with Yunnan, promoting complementary advantages and achieving win-win cooperation in agriculture, cultural tourism, healthcare, and other fields.
