Chinese Bridge for secondary students kicks off in Dali

The 16th Chinese Bridge -- Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students was launched in west Yunnan’s Dali Bai autonomous prefecture on October 20, inviting in 110 secondary student contestants and 73 tutors from 93 countries.

Under the theme of "Fly High with Chinese", the Chinese proficiency competition is hosted by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation under the Chinese Ministry of Education, and it is jointly organized by Yunnan Normal University, Yunnan Radio and Television and the Beijing-based Hanfeng Education Company.

From 2012 to 2018, Yunnan province hosted the 5th to 11th Chinese Bridge events for secondary students, giving a strong pull to global cultural exchanges and mutual learning of civilizations.
