Myanmar, Cambodia reporters visit rural Baoshan
The Asia-Africa Center of China Media Group (CMG) recently invited journalists from Myanmar Radio and Television (MRTV), Cambodia CNC Television and other Southeast Asian media outlets to Baoshan city in southwest Yunnan province.
The journalists visited a Arabica coffee growing area, a forest farm by local conservationist Yang Shanzhou, Tengchong county-level city, and Heshun ancient town.
Win Htut Aung, a program producer from Myanmar MRTV, remarked, "Baoshan is a beautiful city that attracts many tourists. I see diverse changes in the countryside. The development here is tangible. Locals have a decent income and were satisfied with their lives. Meanwhile, Baoshan has a variety of specialty agro-products. I really like them!"
"The cuisine in Baoshan is unforgettable. The rapid development of rural areas here is so astonishing, and I am deeply impressed by Hazhai village,” said Htet Wai Yan Kyaw, a cameraman from MRTV.
“The village combines the protection of traditional and ethnical culture with rural revitalization. I think, for our countries, the development model is worth learning from."
"The development of the plantation of coffee in Xinzhai village and the online sales of coffee beans impressed me a lot," mentioned Zou Liying, a reporter from the Myanmar department of the Asia-Africa Center of CMG.
From the same media as Zou, Linghu Shaoping, a news anchor said, "This time, we went to Longyang district, Shidian county and Tengchong city, and other places. In the fields, villagers tell stories of bumper harvests to us and we see the fruitful results of rural revitalization as well.”
“We hope to share these excellent development experiences and the charm of Baoshan with more overseas audiences," added Linghu.
After visiting the avocado base in Longyang district, Linn Zaw Naing, a reporter from MRTV had a deep impression on the development of agriculture in Baoshan. She hoped to introduce the experience of local agricultural modernization to more Myanmar audiences through her videos.
"This time, we visited the orchard and saw that the local villagers were using modern technology to plant citrus and avocados,” said Linn Zaw Naing. “Modern technology not only greatly increases the yield of agricultural products but also makes the fruits’ taste sweeter.”
"Shidian has industrial parks with certain scales and complete facilities. For example, in crayfish farming industry, people use local resources to develop rural tourism while also emphasizing the protection of the ecological environment," said a reporter from CNC Television in Cambodia.
