People are surprised these days by Yunnan specialties they don’t know!

Yunnan's matsutake mushroom biscuits made an appearance in Harbin recently, surprising many Yunnan netizens who commented, "What does matsutake mushroom biscuit taste like?" and "Even as a Yunnan native, I've never tried them."

With Yunnan producing 40% of China's matsutake mushrooms, these biscuits are highly praised by diners both domestically and internationally, even being shared as gifts at the United Nations Biodiversity Conference (COP15).

Did you know that macadamia nuts might not come from Australia like its name indicates? They might originate from Lincang city in southwest Yunnan province.

Constituting 40% of the global planting area, Lincang is the largest macadamia cultivation base globally.

Tofu is the most well-known local specialty in Shiping county of Honghe Hani and Yi autonomous prefecture, but did you know that Shiping county also boasts exceptional hairy crabs?

With a history of crab farming, the excellent ecological environment has resulted in high-quality crabs. The local integrated farming, sales, and business have paved the way for its prosperity.

Have you ever wondered where in China the most luxurious sturgeon caviar is produced? It's in Huize county of Qujing city in east Yunnan. The area hosts China's largest sturgeon caviar processing and export base, with locally produced caviar exported to European and American markets.

Avocados, originally from Mexico, have become a sought-after fruit and culinary ingredient. Menglian Dai Lahu and Wa autonomous county in Pu'er city have selected over 20 superior avocado varieties suitable for local cultivation, leveraging their climatic conditions since 2007. Today, Menglian has become the largest avocado planting county in China.
