Yunnan Governor Wang Yubo led a provincial official delegation to Myanmar, Thailand and Laos for friendly visits from February 19 to 28.

The visits increased mutual trust, pooled consensus and promoted cooperation, contributing to high-quality cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative and building of a neighborhood community with shared future.

During his stay in Myanmar, Wang Yubo called on Myanmar leader Min Aung Hlaing, meeting with Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and Myanmar Union Minister for Commerce U Tun Ohn.

The two sides exchanged views on renewing friendly exchanges, building the China-Myanmar community of shared future and the China-Myanmar economic corridor, and increasing bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

In Thailand, Wang visited Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Pirapan Salirathavibhaga and Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Adviser to Commerce Minister, meeting with Thai Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs Eksiri Pintaruchi.

The two sides exchanged views on implementing the important consensus reached by the national leaders of the two countries and the Joint Statement between the People's Republic of China and the Kingdom of Thailand on Working towards a China-Thailand Community with a Shared Future for Enhanced Stability, Prosperity and Sustainability.

The topics touched upon the Yunnan-Thailand relations in various areas, including economic cooperation, trade investment, connectivity, clean energy, tourism, as well as people-to-people exchanges. Both sides expressed readiness to look after the other side’s investors, tourists and residents.

In Laos, Wang visited Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, meeting with Lao Minister of Industry and Commerce Malaithong Kommasith and Luang Prabang Party Secretary and Governor Khamkhan Chanthavisouk.

Focusing on the important consensus reached by China-Laos national leaders and the five-year action plan on building a China-Laos community with a shared future (2024-2028), the two sides reached consensuses on optimizing China-Laos Railway operation, industrial development along the line, agricultural cooperation, cultural exchanges, education and others.
