Upgraded gateway is younger, more informative
Yunnan Gateway, a multilingual web portal under Mekong News Network, Yunnan International Communication Center for South and Southeast Asia (YICC), was upgraded and rolled out on March 1.

The new website pools information, clarifies doubts and displays for the public, presenting the many-splendored Yunnan life to international audience in multiple languages and formats.

Founded in 2012, Yunnan Gateway is a professional news web portal, and it is sponsored by State Council Information Office of the PRC, owned by Yunnan Government Information Office and run by Yunnan Daily Press Group.
The gateway has made news available in the seven languages of Chinese, English, Thai, Myanmar, Lao, Cambodian and Vietnamese. With a news release system that is multi-lingual, all-media, multi-channel and multi-tiered, it spreads the latest China/Yunnan news on politics, business, culture, travel and more to net users.

Multilingual fine columns
Special columns for overseas communicators, English commentary, video studio and net influencer studio have integrated their resources for collaborative contribution.
Within the year 2024, Yunnan Gateway will roll out the permanent columns: See China Together in Thai, AI Digital Man in Myanmar and Lao, Chea Munrith Talks in Cambodian, and Challenge Yunnan in English. These will allow audience in south and southeast Asia to have a deeper understanding to China and Yunnan, and vice versa.

From the homepage, you can directly access the e-versions of multilingual publications, including the four monthlies of Mekong (Thai), Champa (Lao), Khmer (Cambodian) and Mingalar (Myanmar), the China/Yunnan news pages published on mainstream media in the United States, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Nepal, as well as the Chinese-English Yunnan Tourism and Culture Times.

Yunnan Gateway is syndicated to Yunnan News App in releasing daily English and Myanmar news.
It also joins hands with the WeChat network Lancang-Mekong party in providing content and services and developing brands, so as to enhance its charm and net users’ participation.
Yunnan Gateway will contact more with members of the South and Southeast Asian Media Network for contents sharing, mutual trust and mutual learning among regional media outlets. By increasing its influence and activeness in international cooperation in the cyberspace, it will contribute Yunnan’s due share to building a cyberspace community of shared future.
