2024 LMC Art & Design Award kicks off in Beijing
The 2024 Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) Art and Design Award was launched in Beijing on April 24, gathering diplomats, scholars, business persons and media professionals from the six LMC countries.
The 2024 Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) Art and Design Award is launched in Beijing on April 24.
With the theme of "Green Power, Lancang-Mekong's New Day", the LMC art and design will focus on energy security cooperation, energy infrastructure projects, renewable energy, power grid modernization, photovoltaic industry, energy storage, electric vehicles, green development investment, and others, highlighting the LMC value and significance.

Gao Anming, editor-in-chief of China International Communication Group (CICG), said the CICG has strengthened all-round exchanges and cooperation under the LMC framework over the years, making new progress and gaining new achievements.
Through more cooperation projects, the people-to-people exchanges among the LMC countries will be further improved, increasing mutual learning and understanding among civilizations.

Daw Zin Mar Htwe, Minister Counsellor of the Myanmar Embassy in China, said that in the past eight years, the LMC has made remarkable progress, hoping the award could boost cultural exchanges and mutual learning among the LMC countries.
Upholding the LMC spirit, Myanmar will continue to cooperate with China for more mechanism construction and practical cooperation, in a bid to jointly realize the LMC dream of a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable region.

Since 2020, the art event has been held annually by China Center for International Communication Development, Central Academy of Fine Arts, Yunnan University, Yunnan International Communication Center for South and Southeast Asia, Bangkok University of Thailand, National University of Laos, Royal University of Phnom Penh, Yangon National University of Arts and Culture, Vietnam National Institute of Arts and Culture Studies, and others.
