Alcimandra blooms in Longling early summer

Early summer sees the Alcimandra cathcartii trees bloom gracefully at the Xiaoheishan nature reserve in Longling county, southwest Yunnan’s Baoshan city.

Alcimandra is a rare and endangered plant species, with important value in taxonomy and ornamental horticulture, and it is also a first-class nationally protected species in China.

As an evergreen tree that can grow up to 50 meters in height, the plant is visible in southwest Yunnan and southeast Xizang/Tibet, China, as well as in Assam, India.
