Dragon Boat Festival sees 110 million domestic trips

According to estimates from the Data Center of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, the 3-dayDragon Boat Festival holiday, lasting from June 8 to 11 this year, saw a total of 110 million domestic trips in China, marking a year-on-year increase of 6.3%. Domestic tourists spent a total of 40.35 billion yuan, up 8.1% compared to the previous year.

Activities such as dragon boat racing, eating zongzi, singing folk songs, and appreciating traditional music deeply integrated the rich cultural heritage of the festival with tourism development.

Provinces like Guangdong, Hunan, Zhejiang, Guizhou, and Yunnan hosted dragon boat races. Tourists increasingly preferred flexible and personalized travel options, enjoying life through slow-paced travel, in-depth experiences, and leisurely relaxation.
Destinations such as Yunnan, Qinghai, Gansu, Inner Mongolia, and Guizhou became popular choices for young people for self-driving tours and summer vacations.
