Nepal National Pavilion Luhuo Branch Inaugurated in Grand Ceremony Celebrating 70th Anniversary of China-Nepal Diplomatic Ties

Luhuo County, Sichuan — Marking the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Nepal, the inauguration ceremony of the Nepal National Pavilion Luhuo Branch was grandly held on March 29 in Luhuo County, hailed as "Holy Ganzi•First City of Xianshui."

The ceremony was presided over by Gele Duoji, Deputy Director of the Ganzi Prefecture People's Congress Standing Committee and Secretary of the Luhuo County Committee of the Communist Party of China.
 
In his address, Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi, CEO of the Nepal Tourism Board, remarked, "Ganzi, renowned for its profound history, vibrant culture, and breathtaking natural landscapes, is rightly celebrated as the 'Pearl of Sichuan.'" He extended heartfelt gratitude to Chinese governments at all levels for their unwavering efforts to foster China-Nepal friendship and emphasized that the event would further strengthen the bridge of bilateral cooperation. Mr. Joshi warmly invited Chinese friends to visit Nepal to experience its unique natural wonders and cultural heritage, expressing optimism for deepened exchanges and mutual prosperity.

 
Cheng Lu, Member of the Ganzi Prefecture Party Committee Standing Committee and Deputy Governor, highlighted the enduring neighborly ties between China and Nepal, which have flourished steadily over the past seven decades. "Ganzi and Nepal share geographical proximity, cultural affinity, and historical linkages through the Ancient Tea-Horse Road and Tang-Tibet Ancient Road," she stated. Cheng Lu affirmed Ganzi's full support for Nepalese investments and development in the region, pledging to advance collaboration in tourism, culture, trade, and economy to yield fruitful outcomes for bilateral friendship on the Tibetan Plateau.

 

The ceremony culminated with Cheng Lu and Deepak Raj Joshi jointly unveiling the plaque for the Nepal National Pavilion Luhuo Branch, followed by a tour of the Pavilion.

 
 The inauguration signifies a milestone in China-Nepal cultural exchanges and economic cooperation, paving the way for enhanced people-to-people connectivity and shared development.

"Cultural Exchange and Shared Development: Sichuan-Nepal Specialty Goods Exhibition Launched in Luhuo County"

 
Luhuo County, Sichuan — Coinciding with the 70th anniversary of China-Nepal diplomatic relations, the opening ceremony of the "Sichuan-Nepal Specialty Goods" exhibition and sales event was held in Luhuo County on March 29. The ceremony was presided over by Deng Jianguang, Deputy Secretary of the Luhuo County Committee of the Communist Party of China and County Mayor.

 
Dignitaries Launch Event with Interactive Ceremony

Four distinguished guests took to the stage to inaugurate the event by jointly activating a large interactive screen:
- Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi, CEO of the Nepal Tourism Board;
- Mr. Suresh Raut, Consul General of Nepal in Chengdu;
- Cheng Lu, Member of the Ganzi Prefecture Party Committee Standing Committee and Deputy Governor;
- Gele Duoji, Deputy Director of the Ganzi Prefecture People's Congress Standing Committee and Secretary of the Luhuo County Party Committee of the Communist Party of China.

Cultural Performances Highlight Bilateral Bonds

The ceremony commenced with the Huo'er Ancient Dance, a local cultural heritage performance, where dancers captivated the audience with movements reflecting Luhuo's rich history and ethnic traditions. A Nepali Art Troupe then enthralled the crowd with two classic folk songs, accompanied by dances evoking Nepal's snow-capped mountains, temples, and pastoral villages.

 
Public Engagement and Exhibition Highlights

"I met Nepali friends today and saw so many unique products from their country. They're welcome in Luhuo!" exclaimed Lhamo, a young attendee, echoing the warmth of the occasion.

The event features a specialty goods exhibition with 45 booths across four themed zones:  
1. Intangible Cultural Heritage
2. Ethnic Handicrafts
3. Agricultural Specialties
4. Cultural and Creative Souvenirs

The exhibition aims to showcase distinctive products from Sichuan and Nepal, fostering cultural and economic collaboration.

Officials Emphasize Collaborative Vision

Deng Yulan, Deputy Director of Luhuo County's Economy, Information, and Commerce Bureau, stated, "This event establishes a comprehensive platform integrating culture, sports, agriculture, tourism, and commerce to deepen Sichuan-Nepal exchanges."

Running until April 2, the "Cultural and Trade Exchange Month" will combine artistic performances with economic activities, allowing residents to immerse in China-Nepal cultural charm while injecting fresh vitality into bilateral relations and solidifying foundations for future cooperation.

Sichuan (Ganzi)-Nepal Youth "Double Innovation" Experience Exchange & High-Quality Development Symposium Held in Our County

 

On March 30, Luhuo County hosted the Sichuan (Ganzi)-Nepal Youth "Double Innovation" Experience Exchange & High-Quality Development Symposium. Centered on the theme "Ingenious Heritage, Co-Creating the Future", the event celebrated the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Nepal, fostering cultural exchange and collaboration between intangible cultural heritage (ICH) practitioners of both nations through mutual learning of traditional crafts and innovation-driven entrepreneurship.

 
In his opening address, Buduo, Deputy County Magistrate, emphasized three key initiatives:
1. Deepen Experience Sharing: Establish an online "Double Innovation" exchange platform to share policies, technologies, and market resources.
2. Promote Project Collaboration: Build offline ICH-focused innovation hubs to incubate cultural and craft-based cooperative projects.
3. Strengthen Friendship Foundations: Create an official-civilian "Double Innovation" cooperation mechanism to facilitate regular exchanges in education, technology, and cultural fields.

 
Speakers included Nepali artisans, provincial/state/county-level ICH inheritors, young entrepreneurs, and rural craftsmen, who shared insights on preserving heritage and pioneering ventures.

 
Wang Yingrong, Deputy County Magistrate, stated: "This symposium bridges our ICH artisans and youth, enabling resource synergy and shared progress. We urge young innovators to steer the tides of heritage preservation and entrepreneurship, jointly scripting a new chapter in China-Nepal friendship and high-quality development."

Aligned with China's national strategy of "mass entrepreneurship and innovation", the event underscored the role of cultural diplomacy in regional cooperation. It highlighted how cross-border dialogue on ICH and innovation can empower sustainable growth.

 
Attendees included Yang Sheng, County Standing Committee Member and Head of Publicity Department; Zhaba, Deputy Director of the County People's Congress; and representatives from relevant departments.
