Paris Olympic champion returns to his hometown Yunnan

“Welcome home, Liu Hao! Welcome home!” Amid cheers and applause, Liu Hao, the men’s double kayak 500m sprint champion at the Paris Olympics, returned to his hometown, Yunnan, on August 15.
Reflecting on his experience at the Paris Olympics, Liu Hao couldn’t hide his excitement. “This was my second Olympic Games, and the audience in Paris was incredibly enthusiastic. The atmosphere was fantastic and gave me a lot of motivation.”
“I am from Yuxi city, and the composer of our national anthem Nie Er is from Yuxi. Being able to sing our national anthem loudly at the Paris Olympics made me feel extremely, extremely happy.” Liu Hao smiled as he said, “I hope to promote the elements of Yunnan to the whole world.”
“I’m from Yuxi, Yunnan, the hometown of Nie Er, who composed our national anthem. Singing our national anthem loudly at the Paris Olympics made me feel extremely happy,” Liu Hao said with a smile. “I hope to promote more Yunnan’s elements to the world.”
