5th Lancang-Mekong college students games going on

Opening of the 5th Lancang-Mekong College Students Goodwill Games on August 31

The 5th Lancang-Mekong College Students Goodwill Games, also the 7th South and Southeast Asia College Students Culture and Sports Week (Kunming), is going on in central Yunnan’s Kunming city from August 31 to September 9.

Jointly organized by Yunnan Provincial Department of Education and Kunming University of Science and Technology, the games is attended by some 700 students and teachers from 28 universities in 12 countries, including China, Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Laos, the Philippines and others. It features the events of football, volleyball, badminton and martial arts.

Cultural performance is staged at the opening of the 5th Lancang-Mekong College Students Goodwill Games.

Cultural activities are also staged during the games, allowing the international young athletes to know more about the Chinese good-neighborliness and amity to create an open, inclusive and harmonious regional environment.

The event is also attended by international students from Africa and Oceania. The in-Kunming diplomats from Malaysia, Myanmar, Bangladesh and others was present at the opening on August 31.
